Why See A Sign of the Times?

MusicalsOff Broadway Shows

off broadway premiere

Transporting audiences back to the heady days of the 1960s and into the heart of the decade where the battle for equal rights and the Vietnam War heralded a tumultuous culture shift, A Sign of The Times is a brand new jukeboxer, soundtracked by some of the 60s most iconic female performers.

Starring Chiliana Kennedy, Ryan Silverman, and Crystal Lucas-Perry, directed by Gabriel Barre for the York Theatre Company, and with a book Linsey Hope Pearlman, based on an original story from Richard J. Robin, expect to hear tunes from Petula Clark, Lesley Gore, and Dusty Springfield as they bring the era to vibrant life at the New World Stages from February 2024.

First seen in a sell-out production by Goodspeed Musicals, and later transferring to Delaware in 2018, this new helming comes off the back of a much anticipated industry reading in fall 2024.

What is the story?

Driven by the desire for change that permeates the atmosphere, Cindy (Kennedy) ups and moves from Middle America to New York City, where she decides to put herself in the heart of a changing America and learns about herself through the people that she encounters and the conflicts that she comes across.

This lively new musical features hits including "The Boy from New York City," "Downtown," "If I Can Dream," and "You Don't Own Me".
