The War On Drugs

Why see The War On Drugs?

The War On Drugs hits the open road

Philly natives The War On Drugs mix the delicate angularities of Indie-Rock, Americana, Shoegaze, and Post-Punk Psychedelia to form a new kind of American Rock, the frontier of which they share with Young, Dylan, Springsteen, and Knopfler.

Unafraid of catchy hooks, driving guitar rhythms, and a synth pad or two, the band's heartland sound evokes Kerouac's open road with a Prog twist. Key tracks include breakthrough anthems, "Under the Pressure," "Red Eyes," and "An Ocean in Between the Waves," and cinematic pieces, "Thinking of a Place" and "Strangest Thing," and Grammy-winning "Harmonia's Dream". Expect a breathtaking experience when these talented folks bring their atmospheric epics to you.

So glad I finally had a chance to experience their talent in such an intimate setting. Left this show feeling very fortunate. ... Read more

    First time experiencing TWOD

To be clear I am a big fan, and love the "I don't live here anymore" This album has spoken to me deeply and was really excited to go see them perform live in a small venue. The show was incredible opening with my favorite "old Skin" which speaks to my new 2.0 me. I defiantly have shed my old skin. My overall impression was that it was hit all the senses, the lighting was spectacular especially on HARMONIA'S DREAM and UNDER PRESSURE. I found the volume just a bit to high for the venue which left me missing some of the guitar notes. In spite of that I decided to go again tonight to see you again. Is I said, I a big fan and love the way this music speaks to my being. See you tonight. ... Read more
